About SMCC

smcc front clearSt. Matthews Christian Center was founded and incorporated on, July 1, 1999, under the leadership of Pastor Vincent S. Sanders, Sr.  The first service was held on Sunday, July 4, 1999 at 1613 West Bridge Street, a storefront located in downtown St. Matthews, South Carolina with 12 adults and a few children in attendance.  God began to fulfill His promise by miraculously meeting the needs of the ministry from that date on.  He made the way for New Church Furniture, a Sound System and Musical Equipment to be purchased.  In addition, renovations were made to the facility, which included an Inscribed Awning over the church entryway, two Sunday School rooms, an enclosed foyer, an access hallway that lead to the rear of the church and an additional bathroom to accommodate the growing congregation.  In 2003, Land was purchased on Highway 601 and paid off in less than a year, which was another Promise of God, fulfilled!

God continued to fulfill His promises by paving the way for the building process to begin in November of 2004 and each month we saw God’s favor as the completion of the new Edifice became reality.   God continued to make Provision for the Vision of St. Matthews Christian Center! The new Edifice located on 731 St. Matthews Road in St. Matthews, SC equipped with a 250 seat Sanctuary, 4 Classrooms, a Children’s Service Nursery with its own bathroom, a large male restroom facility and large female restroom facility and lounge, both being equipped also with showers, a fellowship Hall with an adjoining fully equipped Kitchen, a church office, Pastor’s Study and beautiful spacious foyer, was completed and dedicated in September of 2005! In 2010, the church purchased a 32 passenger bus and was blessed with a 15 passenger van.  The ministry has several auxiliaries and also Sponsors a Local Cub Scout Pack and Girl Scout Troop.

Our ministry theme is “Fully Persuaded People”.  As the Lord continues to bless this ministry, it is our endeavor to be a place where the lives of men and women can be changed by the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and that all who earnestly desire to please God can grow in grace and truth.  Our goal for St. Matthews Christian Center is to be a place where you can become a Vessel of Honor for God’s service, being fully persuaded that God is faithful and will do just what He says.
